Frequently Asked Questions

• Why do I need this?

  After re-colouring your roots a few times, your ends may start to look a bit dull and faded. The Ends Refresher is used to revive the colour and vibrancy specifically on your ends, whilst also adding shine.

• When should I use it?

  We suggest adding the Ends Refresher to your order when you notice your ends are starting to look a bit faded and dull. This is typically after every 2–4 colour applications. Not sure if it’s time to use it? Ask your colourist and they will be happy to advise.

• Is it different from my custom colour?

  Yes. Even though your Ends Refresher is custom made, it is specifically formulated to refresh your ends only. When you order the Ends Refresher, your colourist will update your personalised instructions to show you step by step exactly how to use it.

  We strongly do not recommend using the Ends Refresher on its own or in place of your custom colour. Your results will not be optimal and will likely need to be corrected.

• Is it different from my Step One: Roots formula?

  Yes. The Ends Refresher formula is specifically created to refresh your ends only. This is because your ends have been previously coloured and require a different formula than your newly grown-in roots, which have not yet been coloured.

• Do I have to use the Ends Refresher with my custom colour?

  Yes. To ensure the best results, your Ends Refresher must be applied along your custom colour. Your colourist will clearly label your custom colour and Ends Refresher as “Step 1: Roots,” and “Step 2: Ends,” to make it easy for you. Plus, your Personal Instructions detail step by step how to apply both bottles, so you can refresh like a total pro.

• Can I use some now and save some for later?

  Unfortunately, no. Once you have mixed the colour and Developer, the mixture should be used immediately. This is because the reaction of the combined formulas will cause the colour to expire, making it unusable in the future.

• Why can’t I put this on my roots or all over my hair?

  The Ends Refresher is specifically customised to be put on top of your ends. If placed on your roots or used instead of your custom colour, it will likely create a hot roots effect.

• Why does the colour look different in the bottle?

  The formula in your bottle will not look like your custom colour until your hair is done processing.

  After you mix your formula and Developer, your mixture may even look a bit purple when first applied to your hair – don’t worry! This is completely normal and once the full process is complete, you’ll see your beautiful, custom colour.
